Pink Moon, Rising (2021) is a new mural installation by British-Balinese painter and sculptor Sinta Tantra. Tantra plays with the space to create an artwork that thoughtfully reimagines the surrounding environment and our relationship to the elements of nature and the universe -- the moon, stars and beyond. Inspired by ideas of time and harmony, there is a unique sense of depth and flatness within the composition.
In the upper right corner of the mural, we see a bright pink circle, referencing the rare occurrence of the pink moon. Framed by cloud-like and rectangular motifs, these forms represent mountains, hills, forests, lakes and waters similar to those in the nearby area of the Seorak Mountains.
Within this painting, there is no fixed point of perspective. Rather, we are invited to be lost and immersed within a dream-like landscape, experiencing total calm and inner peace.
