Sunset Ombrè, Tantra's first major public art sculptural installation in Jakarta, consists of a series of geometric linear steel structures integrated with monumental sheets of coloured glass in purple, green and blue.

The installation playfully invites people to walk inside and around, bathing in the pools of coloured light cast on the ground and on the bodies of people passing through. The artwork becomes a giant sundial, casting kaleidoscopic patterns that crescendo and decrescendo as the sun rises and sets, fusing time with materiality.

The title, Sunset Ombrè, refers to Tantra's fascination with sunsets, especially those on her home island of Bali. Tantra says, "The sculpture plays on ideas around the romantic and kitsch. When we think of holiday postcards, we frequently imagine dazzling sunsets with saturated hues and shading into each other."

In this interactive piece, we see nature, art, and architecture merge within the clear fluid screens of the glass, whilst the circular pink and white metal shapes depict the cosmic forces of the sun and moon. The viewer becomes incorporated into the work, acting as a catalyst, injecting life into the man-made and artificial.
